General Terms of use for ServiceCharlie.com
ServiceCharlie.com is an online platform to connect customers and service providers. It is by NO means vouching for anyone customer and/or service provider.
Customers AND service providers should read these terms and understand what ServiceCharlie.com offer and what it does NOT!
Broadly speaking we enable customers and service providers so that they may connect and do business. We expect that customers and service providers will exercise good judgement while deciding to undertake any commercial or non-commercial project.
We expect that customers and service-providers are transacting business in good faith and that all terms are mutually agreed upon by the transacting parties and thay they are in accordance with prevailing laws and regulations. ServiceCharlie.com is NOT party to those conversations and negotiations and is NOT responsible for any unethical / undesirable conduct by any party.
ServiceCharlie.com expects all parties (customers and service-providers) to be scrupulous. ServiceCharlie.com does NOT conduct any background checks on any party and is not responsible for any undesirable conduct on anybody's part.

Customers should note that :
- ServiceProvider Info
ServiceCharlie.com DOES NOT vouch for any information provided by ServiceProviders. The promotional information about each service provider is created and entered by the Service provider himself/herself. ServiceCharlie.com DOES NOT verify or certify the accuracy of that information.
- Service Provider Ratings
ServiceCharlie.com lets customers rate service providers and provide comments on the same. ServiceCharlie.com DOES NOT verify or vouch for the accuracy of those ratings or comments. Customer ratings and comments are collected and made available by ServiceCharlie in good faith and no responsibility for its veracity is implied.
- No fakery
Customers agree to provide ratings and comments in good faith for service providers with whom they have had some actual contact and dealings. Customers agree not to put in fake ratings to unjustly help or harm any service provider.
- Service Provider contact
ServiceCharlie.com will contact service providers whenever a customer selects that him/her for a project. ServiceCharlie.com will attempt to contact the service provider using the contact information and methods provided by the service provider. If such methods fail, for whatever reason, ServiceCharlie.com is not responsible for such failures and the resulting inconvenience or loss of time to the customer.
- Limitation of liability
ServiceCharlie.com DOES NOT vouch for any service provider. We only list service providers and their information so that customers can exercise an informed choice and shortlist service providers. ServiceCharlie.com is NOT RESPONSIBLE for any loss or damage or injury to ay property or person on account of selecting a service provider from ServiceCharlie.com's list.

Service Providers should note that :
- Respect the Law
You are expected to ensure that you operate within the boundries of ALL local and state laws. With regard to licensing please refer to California State Contractors Board website. It clearly indicates what is permissible and what is unlawful.
- No dishonesty / misrepresentation
You are expected to provide honest and truthful information about yourself, your services, your licensing status and your accreditations. Deliberate mis-representation of your services can and will be treated as a violation of the terms and spirit of ServiceCharlie.com and will result in the termination of your account.
- Service Provider Ratings
ServiceCharlie.com lets customers rate service providers and provide comments on the same. ServiceCharlie.com DOES NOT verify or vouch for the accuracy of those ratings or comments. While ServiceCharlie.com will investigate instances of eggregious abuse of the rating system, it is under NO OBLIGATION to edit / remove any customer feedback solely on the grounds that the service provider finds it unfavorable.
- Service Provider contact
ServiceCharlie.com will try to contact you (the service provider) whenever a customer selects that you and invites you to bid on their project. ServiceCharlie.com will attempt to contact you using the contact information and methods you provide (email address, tel#, fax#, SMS/Text address). If such methods fail, for any reason, ServiceCharlie.com is not responsible for such failures and the resulting inconvenience or loss of time/business.
- Payment and Charges
Until Jan 1 2009, ServiceCharlie.com wil be totally FREE for service providers. After that date, if you choose to be a part of the ServiceCharlie service provider network, then the amount designated for the sales lead will be charged to your account.
You will need to buy credits in advance. You can choose to buy credits worth any amount you choose. This bank of credits will be depleted as leads are sent to you.
- Refunds
Any unused credits will be refunded to you via paypal.com (less any processing charges applied by Paypal).
- Disputes
Any unused credits will be refunded to you via paypal.com (less any processing charges applied by Paypal).

- Customer Information
ServiceCharlie.com collects customer-name, email-address and phone-number as a part of its service delivery mechanism. This contact information is passed on to service providers selected by the customer so that they may contact you with quotes/bids/offers. Other than those service providers, ServiceCharlie.com DOES NOT SHARE cusomer contact information with ANYONE ELSE for ANY REASON WHATSOEVER.
- No Spam Guarantee
ServiceCharlie.com will NOT sell or share or otherwise divulge customer contact information (email and phone#) with any one other than the service providers selected by the customer. ServiceCharlie.com will NOT use this information for sending out unsolicited commercial email (AKA Spam).
- Service Provider contact information
ServiceCharlie.com will NOT SHARE or divulge service providers' contact info with anyone. Service providers can be assured of that their email / fax / phone / SMS info will not be made available to SPAMMERS at any cost.
- Payment / Fees
Until Jan 1 2009, ServiceCharlie.com wil be totally FREE for service providers. After that, ServiceCharlie.com will charge a nominal fee for every sales lead it sends to a service provider. The amounts charged to each provider in a month will be confidential and will NOT be divulged to anyone other than the service providers and his/her designated deputies.
- Feedback and Ratings
Servicecharlie.com will treat the identities of customers who provide ratings and feedback as CONFIDENTIAL. Excepting for eggregious abuse, no customer feedback or rating will be withdrawn or modified.
- Session information
In keeping with the practice of gathering web-statistics, ServiceCharlie.com does track user IP Address and session information like browser and OS type. This information is gathered for internal usage analysis and NOT for sale to other parties/agencies.
